CONSCIOUSNESS
WHAT DO YOU MEAN WHEN YOU USE THE WORD “CONSCIOUSNESS”? THAT DEPENDS UPON WHO YOU ARE, WHERE YOU COME FROM, YOUR PARTICULAR BACKGROUND AND YOUR INTERESTS. IN GENERAL, CONSCIOUSNESS REFERS TO THAT OF WHICH YOU ARE AWARE. IT MIGHT INCLUDE YOU THOUGHTS AND IDEAS, YOUR SENSATIONS AND HOW YOU INTERPRET THEM, YOUR BODY PARTS AND HOW THEY PERFORM, EVEN YOU INTERNAL ORGANS AND HOW THEY FEEL.
CONSCIOUSNESS IS SOMETHING YOU “REGAIN” AFTER YOU HAVE BEEN KNOCKED OUT, ANESTHETIZED, IN A COMA, IN A SEIZURE STATE, AD INFINITUM. IT MAY ALSO REFER TO CONNECTIONS OR “BLENDINGS” MADE WITH GOD, THE COSMOS, ANGELS, SPIRITS AND SO ON, AS WELL AS WITH OTHER HUMAN BEINGS, PLANTS AND ANIMALS.
WE TALK ABOUT RAISING OUR LEVEL OF CONSCIOUSNESS WHEN WE TUNE IN TO ABSTRACTIONS ON THE COSMIC AND SPIRITUAL PLANES, AS WELL AS WITH OUR OWN MINDS AND BODIES TO THOSE OF OTHERS. IT’S PROBABLY REASONABLY CORRECT TO SAY THAT WE ARE RAISING OUR LEVEL OF CONSCIOUSNESS WHENEVER A NEW AWARENESS DEVELOPS. THUS, THERE ARE A HUGE NUMBER OF WAYS OF RAISING CONSCIOUSNESS, AND MANY, MANY ARENAS IN WHICH TO DO IT.

MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT HYPNOSIS
Hypnosis is an altered state. It isn't. An altered state is your mind on LSD. Hypnosis is focused attention, a heightened sense of awareness.
The Hypnotist has control over you. No, you are in control of you. You cannot be hypnotized against your will. All hypnosis is a form of self-hypnosis.
You have to be in a deep state of hypnosis to reap its benefits. No, you don't. When hypnotized, you're not awake, and you're not asleep. Your brain is producing either alpha or theta waves, which indicate hypnosis. When you're awake, your brain produces beta waves; when asleep, delta waves.
You enter a hypnotic state by watching a swinging pendulum. Not likely. Hypnotherapists typically give a client suggestions about mental and physical relaxation to help them reach the hypnotic state.
